Aalok Thakkar
IDEAL Council Chair
School of Engineering and Applied Sciences
Aalok Thakkar is a third year doctoral candidate in the Department of Computer and Information Science, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. His research focuses on automated methods for verification, analysis, and synthesis of programs. Over the last few years, Aalok has served as the President for Rangoli - the Indian Association at Penn, Chair for Operations, Parliamentarian, Chair for Sustainability, and a number of deputy and committee leadership positions at GAPSA and at the Graduate Student Engineering Group.
Aalok’s goal is to work with the IDEAL’s affinity groups to continue Penn’s mission of an inclusive and welcoming campus. He works closely with the community houses, Women’s Center, LGBT Center, and a number of other resources on campus to ensure that graduate students can make the best out of their Penn lives. Penn, and especially its graduate community, means a lot to Aalok, and he hopes that through his efforts as the Chair for IDEAL, he, too, can add meaning to them.
