Paul Welfer

Chair for Finance

School of Arts & Sciences

Paul Welfer is GAPSA's 2018-2019 Chair for Finance, and enthusiastic about continuing to serve Penn in GAPSA for a sixth year (and fourth year as Chair for Finance).  Paul is focused on responsible finance to promote student advocacy, community, and diversity.  As fiscal fiduciary to students, Paul’s passion is in giving voice through funding by advancing transparency and accountability, responsive efficiency, and sustainable administration.

Paul is an Organizational Dynamics (DYNM) master’s student with an interest in global governance models.  In SAS, Paul has served as SASgov Vice President for Finance, contributed to LPSgov as treasurer, and sits on the DYNM Program Council.  Previously, Paul served as DYNM graduate program General Body representative to SASgov.

Paul graduated magna cum laude from Penn’s School of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Civilization and a minor in Anthropology.  While advancing his academic studies, Paul’s professional background is in the finance industry.

Fun Fact: Paul is an avid runner who competes in half-marathons while endorsing the adage, “The race is not always to the swift but to those who keep on running.”
