Fan Alex Yang, Vice President


 

 

Fan (Alex) Yang is a Ph.D. candidate in Materials Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania. He also serves as Vice President of Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GAPSA) of the university, a business consultant at Penn Biotech Group (PBG) Healthcare Consulting, and a public speaker at Toastmasters International. As an active leader on campus, Fan devotes himself to advocating for students and enriching their Penn experiences through working with President, Provost and Trustees of the university. He also serves on the Consultative Committee on the Selection of a Provost. 

Fan was also Chair of GradFest 2016, the largest event week at Penn, Chair of Student Financial Services Advisory Board (2015-2016), and Secretary of Graduate Student Engineering Group (2015-2016), the graduate student government of the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Penn. Before joining Penn in 2013, Fan received a B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University where he served as Vice President of his class and graduated with distinction. 

In addition, Fan has been an active volunteer serving the public, from the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai to the Ronald McDonald House in Philadelphia.
