Miles Owen, President

  • M.P.A. Candidate, University of Pennsylvania, Fels Institute of Government

  • M.C.P. Candidate, University of Pennsylvania, School of Design

  • B.S., Emergency Medical Care, Eastern Kentucky University

Miles is currently a dual degree student in the School of Design and the Fels Institute of Government pursuing Masters degrees in City Planning and Public Administration. In the past, he has worked as a firefighter/EMT for the US Forest Service in California, a policy researcher for the Department of Homeland Security in Washington DC, a paramedic in Kentucky, and most recently as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Fiji. Here at Penn, he is interested in city management and design and also how urban environments can be made more resilient to natural disasters.

Fun Fact: Despite growing up with parents who own and operate natural health food stores, he loves fast food and can usually be found at lunchtime either at the closest halal food truck or waiting in line with all the undergrads at Chipotle.
