Octavia Sun, Chair for Communications

Octavia Sun is GAPSA's 2017-18 Chair for Communications. Octavia is a 2nd-year Master of Environmental Studies (MES) student in the School of Arts and Sciences, concentrating in Environmental Sustainability, focusing her capstone on sustainability strategies and challenges within the fashion industry. During undergrad, along with her Environmental Studies degree, Octavia minored in Journalism and has managed social media platforms for various environmental nonprofits.
Previously, Octavia was a member of the GAPSA Communications Committee. As Chair of Communications, Octavia hopes to continue active communication throughout the G12 to further increase awareness of the many opportunities, events, and resources at Penn. In addition, Octavia aims to make social media and the GAPSA newsletter work better together, make more people aware of the newsletter's existence, and to start posting on Instagram stories for GAPSA's Instagram.
When Octavia is not in class or doing her Communications Chair duties, you can find her on most social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest) posting about social justice issues she is passionate about (plus pop culture too), going out on the town for most weekends, rocking out to the Beyonce Pandora station, cooking, drawing and shopping/researching the latest trends.
