Laura is a 5th year Doctoral student in the Neuroscience program at the School of Medicine.  Laura works in Dr. Jean Bennett’s lab studying gene therapy for blindness.  Prior to graduate school, Laura studied biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University.  During the the 2013-2014 academic year, Laura was Chair of the Biomedical Graduate Student Association, and a GAPSA rep.

This year, Laura is very excited to represent all research students as Vice Chair for Research Students.  In the coming year, Laura hopes to make all research students more aware of what resources are available through GAPSA.  She plans to focus on advocacy on behalf of graduate students and hopes to make it easier for graduate students to contact the research council with relevant advocacy issues.

If you are graduate research student, and have questions or suggestions regarding GAPSA, please feel free to contact Laura at gapsa.research@gmail.com.
